We ate lunch at said eatery, and this autographed Gary Carter poster was among the memorabilia. It reads “To (pub owner) All the best God Bless Always Gary Carter”
What inspired this photo was the ability to get Orosco, Franco, and Pedro in one shot. Mets representing in Cooperstown!
a) “bring the kiddies bring the wife…” I did, to Meet a few Hall of Fame Mets
b) Since there was a life size Philly Phanatic in the hall, it was good to see a little Mr. Met representation
Good to see Keith Hernandez had a presence in the Hall- he deseves it. This was by the Gold Glove display, comemerating Mex’s record 11 awards for first base. I don’t know why certain photos uploaded 90 degrees off…
Wish I could rotate this, but it doesn’t seem that I can. Cool to see this display!
This was the first time I’ve seen Gary Carter’s plaque. He may be wearing an Expo cap, but it was with the Mets that he won a World Series and finished second in MVP voting.
Tom Seaver, easily the greatest homegrown Met. His winning percentage relative to his teams is unsurpassed in history.
“All the kids say ‘Metsie’, ‘Metsie’… not ‘momma’, not ‘poppa’, but ‘Metsie’, ‘Metsie’…”
Well, Luke does say momma and dada, but not ‘Metsie’. He should probably work on that.
He had about as good a time as you can expect an 11 month old to have. And he ended up kinda being a popular attraction in the museum… at least for a few slightly bored girlfriends and wives.
